Step 10: "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" |
|
|
 |
 |
The "Favorites" menu (or the "Favorites" button) is one of the most
useful and most used parts of your browser. Some browsers such as Netscape Navigator also
call it "Bookmarks", because it's a bit like putting a bookmark in an important
page of a book to make it easy to find again.
When you've been to an interesting site, you don't have to scribble down its Web address
and re-type it each time you want to go there again. Instead, simply add it to your
Favorites/Bookmarks (using the "Add" function in the Favorites or Bookmarks
menu).
This makes life on the Web a lot easier, but remember that as you keep adding sites to
this list, your bookmarks can soon become quite long. Then you will need to prune them
back, and/or organise them into separate subdirectories or folders. In the Favorites or
Bookmarks menu, choose "Organize Favorites" (or "Edit Bookmarks" in
Netscape Navigator) to do this.
