The "Home" button can seem slightly confusing at first, because on the Internet
a "home page" can mean several things. Firstly, when somebody creates a
collection of Web pages, they often create a special document which is intended to be
viewed first - one that contains introductory information or a master menu of the
documents in the collection. This type of document is called a ""home page. Or a
"home page" might refer to somebody's personal website.
But on a browser, the "home" button refers to something different again: the
"starter" page, i.e. the page you begin with whenever you start a Web session.
You can set your browser to go to a particular page or Web address whenever you start your
browser. For example, you might want to start at the "Choice sites" section on
oceanfree.net. If you designate this as your home page, you can jump directly to it at any
time during your session on the Web, simply by hitting the "Home" button. (The
way to change your "Home" page is dealt with separately in the "View" menu).
