Moving on from the "File" to the "Edit" menu to the right of it, two
of the "Edit" menu's most important functions are "Copy" and
"Select All". If you want to copy some of the text from the Web page into a word
processing document, for example, select the text in the Web page (by moving your mouse to
the beginning of the section you want, holding down the left button then dragging the
mouse down to the end of the section you want). Then select the "Copy" function.
After selecting the text, you can jump over to your word processing program and use its
"Paste" function to paste the same earmarked text into a document you're working
on.
Or if you want to grab all the text on the Web page in one fell swoop, use the
"Select All" function - this selects the whole page (even if it is much longer
or wider than your screen). Then use the "Paste" function in your word processor
as before.
The "Find" option is just like the search-and-find button in your word processor
or email program. It looks for a word, for part of a word or for a longer phrase in the
Web page you are currently viewing - often handy if you are trying to find a particular
section in a very long page.
